It also features a straight grain, one piece, varnished walnut stock with curved metal butt plate. The rifle has two “U” stamped barrel bands, two sling swivels, and ramrod. The top of the trapdoor breach is stamped “US Model 1873”. The top of the barrel is also struck with a variety of proof marks near the receiver.
